COVID 19 Competitions - update from Paul

The special competitions arranged this year are progressing well.

The Yardstick is almost at the Semi-Final stage with three of the four participants known: Norman, Veronica and Ralph. Just a couple of games in the other group to be played this week.

The first of the Drawn Pairs ties were played this weekend with further matches arranged during this week.

The draw for the Covid Bowl and Mixed Singles has been made, details on the Web Pages. Matches are 12 ends, with four bowls each player. Everyone will play at least two games, playing everyone in their “round robin” league, two points will be awarded for a win and one for a draw. The winners of each of the three groups will progress to the semi-finals along with the best placed second. It is important that all league games are played the full 12 ends as shot difference may be important in determining final league positions.

Please arrange to play your matches by the 31 July, if possible, don’t forget to book your rink slot and arrange a “Marker”

A further very exciting competition … “Covid Pairs Scramble” this will provide an opportunity for you to play with three different partners providing lots of friendly competition in groups.

More information and entry details are available on the COVID 19 Competitions page.

NHS Test and Trace and BOOKINGS

Biddenden Bowls Club is required to keep a temporary record of all people who visit the green for at least 21 days to assist NHS Test and Trace with requests for that information if needed. This is really important to help contain clusters and outbreaks.

Our booking system is essential not only for Test and Trace but also to ensure that numbers at the green are controlled so that Social Distancing at 2 metres can be safely maintained. So if you are booking a rink please say who is playing/marking or if you are planning to come along for any other reason please ensure you have "booked".

Booking is easy and can be done in any of the following ways even at short notice!
