Howdy members – one month into the season and the green is now running and turning!! Well done to the green keeping boys!!

Bowls Big Weekend – 28th May 2023 – note from Kim

An important day for us to attract new members, showcase the club and advertise BOWLS BASH for those not yet ready to join but who will pay and play. We need more people to help though with lots of different roles on and off the green.

We have 3 slots to cover: 9.45 to noon. 11.45 to 2 and 1.45 to 4.15. Please can you help during one of these? Paul, Joy, Barbara and Kim will be there all day and will be able to guide you on what needs doing. Gavin, Gail, Brian, Christine, Jeannette, Sue R, David B and Pat have already put their names down for a 2-hour slot. Watering the new TURF – note from Paul

Whilst the dry sunny weather is great news for our bowling and the speed of the green it is not so good for the new turf around the edges. We need to do intensive watering on each bit of turf at least once a week. Volunteers are urgently needed for 2/3 hour slots to water with the hand spray and/or monitor/move the sprinkler (you can roll up or "sit and laze" while you do this). This needs to start this week!! Friendly matches/league games/competitions

Games are well underway and it is really important that we can get balanced teams out for all of them and give everyone the chance to play. Please put your name down for selection on the sheets at the club or on the website.

The next club competition is the Drawn Aussie Pairs on Saturday 10th June. This was a great day last year with lots of fun/laughter and some good games of bowls!! As it is a drawn competition, it gives everyone the chance of winning so do get your name down at the club or let Martin G know.
